Albert Pinsonneault, conductor; Andrew Major, graduate assistant conductor; Charles Foster, accompanist

Ralph Vaughan Williams wrote his Serenade to Music in 1938 for an ensemble of 16 soloists, setting text from Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. The work wonderfully alternates between passages for solo voice and for the ensemble as a community. This concert also features repertoire from the baroque era and the 21st century. At this weekday evening concert, “Here we will sit and let the sounds of music creep in our ears: soft stillness and the night becomes the touches of sweet harmony.”
